Mark You Calendars....

Hello Ladies...
I hope that the end of summer finds you with chilly mornings...
warm afternoons...
sunflowers in your gardens....
and feeling ready for the fall season
{my most favorite}
A quick recap of events around my home in the past week...
My oldest is in school all day {1st grade}
{I miss her...but she is having a blast}
..............
I am loving my time at home with my youngest {3yrs}
{and we've been doing lots of fun things together}
..............
I am mentally preparing myself for the upcoming 'hunting season'
{I am a self-proclaimed 'hunter's widow'}

and I have already been gearing up for the next Junk Salvation Show...
{I know it's not until November, but this sunshine won't be around that long}

and last but not least...
I have been hard at work down in Margee's barn getting it all spruced up for our upcoming Barn Sale
{that's right....we're going to end this summer with a sale!!!}
So put in on your calendars and get the hubbs to watch the kiddo's.
We'll have cider and delicious treats to nibble on
while you peruse through our treasures.
{some of which, no one has even seen yet}
{we've got galvanized, glass, rusty, shabby, vintage, etc, etc,etc}
If you have any questions...
please feel free to give us a call at
253- 271-4ave{4283}
We are looking forward to seeing y'all there.

All in a Days Work...

OK...I'll be honest...
this is gonna be short and sweet...
you see I was just invited to join the
{Pinterest} fun...
and now I am hooked and want to get back to pinning.
I do, however, feel an obligation to share with you
the treasures that I acquired while I was
out and about today!!!

OK...I didn't so much acquire this first one...
as I did avoid running through it...
I know that it is bizzare...
but one of the things that I love so much about
the fall season is the dramatic increase in
spiders and webs that I find in our front garden.
{Hey, better in the garden than in my living room...right?}

Again...I didn't acquire this one either...
but I do love and appreciate that I am
BLESSED to see this gorgeous mountain almost each and every day!!!
May not {love} her so much if she decides to 'wake-up' one day...
but in the mean time,
I remain in awe of her glory and perfection!!!

OK...
Back to Business!!!
I had not been able to persue finding treasures as often as I would prefer these past few weeks...
weddings...
chores...
etc...
etc...
etc...

So I got up this morning...
bright and early...
{8a.m. ish}...
ran through Starbucks for my drink
....and off I went.

Do you love this???
I love this!!!
I loved this so much that I asked a man
to literally pry it off a garage wall.
I couldn't help myself...
Isn't she charming???
I love her hinges!!!
So did Bri...
I almost had to grab her a small paper bag
when I introduced them to each other

I can't seem to pass up anything that
even remotely resembles something
'school house.'
OBVIOUSLY...

As soon as I saw this...
I immediately thought to myself...
laundry room!!!
I know it's not a very practical place to have something fun and funky...
but lets face it...
laundry is NOT going to do itself...
I've left it to see...
and it didn't.

Now this little gem...
I see in a large bathroom with a
wire basket-o-towels on the bottom...
and a few hand towels draped over the top.
What do you think?
Oh...and did I mention that she has the
{dreamiest} casters?

And I was shocked when I decided that I needed this...
you see it's an old solvent tank...
{something mechanics use to clean and degrease parts}
My dad being a mechanic...
I have seen plenty of these growing up...
...but NEVER before did I think to myself that this would either make a modern potting table...
...or a unique place to store bottled beverages for a BBQ.

And these following treasures are not for sale...
YET?!?!
With my hubbs being a hunter...
my 6 year old thinks that deer are pretty cute...
and gasps at the sight of them.
Imagine my little happy dance when I came across
ALL OF THESE at a sale today.
I gave her a few and nonchalantly put the rest away for Christmas.

Did you venture out this weekend?
What did you find?
Back to {pinning}!
Loves,
{Tinell}

4th Ave crosses state lines...

OH MY GOODNESS!!!
Have we really let it go 10 months without posting on our
4th Avenue blog?
It's true...
It's been neglected...
My deepest apologies.
After getting a suggestion from a gal that we need a
'4th Avenue Blog,'
I decided that I'd better post something...
because how embarrassing to tell her we already have one
and to have the latest post be from last October.

And really there was no better time or opportunity
than now because Margee and I have just returned from
Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

We were invited to attend the inaugural
'Junk Salvation' show
by Funky Junk Sisters,
Linda and Dixie.

Since Bri is still adjusting to motherhood
and loving on her
new baby girl,
Margee and I decided to load up the trailers
and take this 'show on the road.'

As you can see by the pictures...
the road turned out to be
a little steeper and have a sharper right-hand turn
than we expected
{and only 3 blocks away from Margee's home}
(DISCLAIMER: Not my truck and neither she nor I were driving)
And I have to point out the the aforementioned trailer,
in which you can see it's under-sides...
was stocked full of our
'knick-knacks.'
That's right...all of our:
-hobnail vases
-vintage salt and pepper shakers
-antique Ball canning jars,
etc, etc, etc
were inside of this trailer.
{notice how high the back tires are off of the ground...}
Margee and I quickly assessed the situation
and since my truck and trailer
{still upright}
contained all of our bigger items...
we decided to go-ahead to Idaho and Margee's husband, Dan and their 3 kiddo's would get the trailer upright, get a new hitch system and meet up with us in Coeur D'Alene.

I crawled into the back of our truck and took this aerial photo of
my truck filled to the brim with our shelves, chairs,
GIGANTIC neon letters.
Then I handed the camera to Margee to take a side-view photo...
and then I abruptly fell off of the side of my truck.
NO SERIOUSLY!!!
I straight fell to the ground.
Not sure how I didn't hurt myself...
but the last thing Margee said she saw was my arm disappearing over the side of the truck...
and then as I lay FLAT on the ground,
she asked if I was o.k....
to which I responded,
'Nice shoes, Margee.'
She was kind enough to race over a take this lovely of me...
laying on the ground...
trying to gather up my pride and dignity.
5 1/2 hours later...
and 2 stops at Starbucks...
we arrived in Coeur D'Alene.
We couldn't wait to see Linda and Dixie...
as they were eager to hear the whole story of the
'tipped-over' trailer.
Remarkably enough,
after we had unloaded all of our bigger items,
and had the 'bones' of our booth set up...
Dan pulled up only 2 1/2 hours behind us.
{the big unveiling of the trailer....now upright}
The story of how our trip started out had begin to spread throughout the venue...
and after some initial laughs and questions...
the other vendors began to pitch in and give us a hand unloading our things.
Being a part of this 'junkin' community has really introduced us to
A LOT of REALLY great people from all over.
{a HUGE thanks to all of you who rallied around us to help us make
our time in Coeur, D'Alene a great one}

Doors are open...
let the show begin...
So after some serious
scrambling,
prayers,
and sweat...
We were pretty proud of our booth.
Here is the view we had...
across the isle from us were Linda and Dixie...
some of the nicest sisters I have ever had the pleasure of meeting!
Thanks girls for all of your help and hospitality.
We probably would have stayed home had it not been for you both!
We had a great time,
met some even greater people,
sold a few things,
shared a few laughs
and then it was time to head home.

I could not resist pulling over to take a picture of this
{nothing short of incredible}
sign.
If only I'd brought my ladder and wrenches...
I would have brought it home.
Huge THANKS to all who supported us
and came to visit Junk Salvation in Idaho.
{P.S. sidenote: After unloading the over turned trailer...
we found only 2 {can you believe it} things broken.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!
